I'm John, founder of BTM Tradez. My path here didn't start with a trading chart — it started on Wall Street in 2011, where I spent close to a decade working as a stockbroker before moving into the lending side of the industry. Alongside that, I carried 14 years in the military, which taught me more about discipline and decision-making under pressure than any market ever could. When COVID forced me out of the office and into working from home, I finally had the space to turn everything I'd learned on Wall Street inward — trading for myself, on my own terms, with the knowledge I'd spent over a decade building. What started as personal trading eventually became something I wanted to teach. Now I spend a lot of my time working directly with students, whether they're picking up a chart for the first time or already trading and looking to sharpen what they've got. But what I teach goes beyond strategy. Anyone can learn to read a chart — what actually separates traders who last from traders who blow up is the emotional and psychological discipline behind every decision. That's why I don't teach trading as a way to get rich quick. I teach it as a lifestyle: the mindset, the patience, the ability to sit with a loss without spiraling and a win without getting reckless. Strategy gets you in the door. Discipline is what keeps you in the game.
